Oakwood Brewery Label Collection

Oakwood Brewery is a small-batch craft brewery based in the Midlands, producing seasonal ales and IPAs with a loyal local following. They approached us to design and print labels for their four seasonal beers, each requiring a distinctive identity while maintaining a cohesive family look across the range.

Design Approach

Each label features an original illustration inspired by the season it represents — spring blossom for the pale ale, a sun-drenched wheat field for the summer lager, falling oak leaves for the autumn amber, and a frost-covered landscape for the winter stout. The illustrations sit within a consistent label architecture that includes the brewery's logo, tasting notes, ABV, and barcode. The colour palette shifts with each season while the layout and typography remain constant, creating instant shelf recognition.

Print Specification

The labels were printed on waterproof self-adhesive vinyl using UV-cured inks to withstand condensation and ice-bucket chilling without smudging or peeling. We used a combination of CMYK process and a metallic gold fifth colour for the Oakwood crest, adding a premium touch that sets these labels apart from competitors on the shelf. Die-cutting gave each label a distinctive silhouette shaped around the illustration.

Oakwood's seasonal range has since become a talking point among local craft beer enthusiasts, with several customers collecting the labels — exactly the kind of brand engagement that thoughtful packaging design can create.
